The ETAP Real-Time Power System Monitoring & Simulation (PSMS) Operations Training is an operations-focused course designed for users who want to leverage ETAP Real-Time for power system monitoring, state estimation, predictive simulation, and operational decision support.

This course provides hands-on coverage of State Load Estimation (SLE), Predictive Simulation with Simulate Before Operate, Event Playback, Switching Sequence Management, and Situational Intelligence, enabling participants to analyze real-time system conditions, evaluate operational scenarios, and support informed decision-making in live power system environments.

Prerequisites

• Participants must have attended the ETAP Real-Time Infrastructure Foundation training course prior to enrolling.

Learning Outcome:

• Operate State Load Estimation (SLE) to assess real-time system conditions and validate operational data
• Use Predictive Simulation (Simulate Before Operate) to evaluate what-if scenarios prior to executing switching actions
• Perform event playback for post-event analysis and operational review
• Manage and validate switching sequences to support safe and reliable system operations

Certification & Recognition:

• Participants will earn the “ETAP RT PSMS Operations Participant” badge.
• Candidates who complete the certification exam successfully will receive the “ETAP RT PSMS Operations Verified Achiever” credential.

System Requirements:

To ensure a smooth and productive training experience, the following special requirements must be met prior to the start of the ETAP Real-Time Infrastructure Foundation course:

• Local Administrator Privileges
  Participants must have full local administrator rights on their training workstation to install ETAP, configure communication drivers, and modify system settings as needed.
• Reliable Internet Connection to connect to the ETAP Cloud License Server
• Operating System (64-bit): Microsoft Windows® 11 Professional, Server 2022 Standard, or Server 2019 Standard.
• 32 GB RAM Recommended

• This course is designed for ETAP Real-Time Solution Integrators and System Administrators responsible for deploying and maintaining ETAP Real-Time systems.
• Participants are expected to be familiar with the core Real-Time architecture, services, and deployment concepts covered in the prerequisite training.
• Engineers should also be familiar with SCADA systems or have practical experience using similar automation or monitoring platforms.
