In this context, ETAP software may utilize various technologies, such as security mechanisms that can detect the installation or use of illegal copies of the software and collect and transmit data about those illegal copies using ETAP license compliance tools.
If ETAP software is illegally installed or used, data (including limited categories of personal information) of the affiliated user accounts may be collected and processed by ETAP in the course of carrying out its compliance activities. Our compliance teams use this information, together with other information on record, to confirm the details of the corporate entity involved and the approximate geographic region where the infringing incident has occurred.
ETAP uses this functionality to pursue its legitimate interest in protecting its business assets and apprehending parties that violate such rights.
